Kath Littler

Kath Littlker became interested in printmaking while living in Dorset, becoming a member of Poole Printmakers for many years. Then, in 2003, She re-met her lecturer from college, Peter Reddick, a prominent wood engraver and book illustrator. His beautifully-skilled engravings with their fluid rhythms and black and white contrast expressing drama in nature inspired Kath to take up the medium.

Much of Kath’s subject matter derives from the beauty of the landscape and coast where she was born and continues to return to, as well as the Black Mountains where she now lives, with occasional trips to Orkney. To engrave is to re-visit and experience with a new form of expression, desiring to make a thing of beauty which invites the onlooker to be inspired by the atmosphere and character of these natural surroundings.
